I still believe the day will come When all the creatures from my head With beasts from bottom of my lungs Like snakes will crawl inside your bed And you will hear the sound of music piercing black Feel the love supreme Make the right connections If you're talking of the damage done Naked figurines Lust and filth in action Let me show you a brand new one I want to push it really hard To see how far we all can go Harder and harder and harder and harder! It's easier with every step And like the river my life flows Hallucinating and erupting with the purple sparks What I ever meant to be I am now on my knees And I am rotten to the core Solo - Igor Somewhere beyond good and evil Where no eyes can see me I am lying on the floor Solo - Igor

Beautiful mind Is searching for something Bigger than life You can name it But still you can't hold it in your hands Wonderful dream Ended too early Still have some problems When dealing with this cruel world I belong to And they think we are insane Lost some screws within our brains All Babels fall And here's our statement and riot We're not alone Who will put them on the knees Who creep and crawl Will rise, and the fists getting higher The flag of hate Is waving above the ground Rich's getting richer Poor's getting poorer It happens every day Practice and preach Show what you're made of Don't let it drift away I'm so happy to be with you I 'm so glad you're around All I mean here.. Nothing new All together we still can stand this fight Still looking for something Holy as life When I find it, I will let you know don't you trust me? Well, it's not easy Scared to death and amazed at the same time I want you to hear it What's on your mind? Your sacred and birth-given right To speak and to be heard As loud as you can Again and again and again And my voice is my sword!

What if this road leads to nowhere And there's no turning back? Is it the tale that they told you When you were young? And when enough is enough You better tell me to quit. Sometimes the life withers faster Than the Earth makes a spin Waiting for you, longing for you Your little world is in danger Angels left you alone. The fountain of inspiration is dry. What made you smile seems so boring now Cry on your own It's just the usual way how the genius dies Waiting for you, longing for you The breathless body lies on the ground The crowd is shocked, they all scream an shout Some called for doctor and ambulance You laugh while standing next to yourself There is better place that's made for you and me With the cloudless sky and the Sun that shines eternally Where our hopes and dreams easily come true Waiting for you, longing for you.. And all your castles were made of sand The soap bubbles with crooked faith The twisted image of world to be That ruined all our integrity There is better place that's made for you and me With the cloudless sky and the Sun that shines eternally Where our hopes and dreams easily come true Waiting for you, longing for you.. Keep your speech for another day Roaming since we've lost horizon Stuck in fear and dismay Lonesome spirit with no body

sputnikmusic.com review by Mad.:
"Review Summary: Massive Riff Assault vs. Human Sensory System

There's a track on this album called Space Orchid vs. Massive Drumkit, and that gives a damn good idea as to what this album's about - insanely big riffs and drums and a great deal of fun.

The Grand Astoria have been quietly banging out their unique brand of stoner/psychedelic rock/metal sometimes fused with punk-like vocals since 2009, and with their fourth album, Punkadelia Supreme, they're flexing their muscles and showing us just how far that's brought them.
After a nice little intro song, their first of many epics, Slave of Two Masters kicks in and we're hit by Kamille Sharapodinov's signature killer riffs and Alexander Chebotarev's always outstanding drumming, which doesn't let up for the whole song, the manic solo building and building until you think your brain's gonna explode... or maybe you've headbanged it out of place.
This mind-numbing fuzz is splayed all over the album, from the impressive middle section of Punkadelia Supreme & Street Credit's to The King Has Left the Building's retro raga approach, this is a raving worship of The Metal and all things heavy and groovy.

But like the guy who keeps screaming for the band after they've left the stage for good, it does slightly wear out its welcome. At just over 75 minutes long, the final monstrous 13 minute Score feels slightly unnecessary, especially just after the album's best track Visualize, which lulls you into a tranquil mood with an acoustic version of its main, astounding riff.
Score basically riffs you to death, particularly after the band has already used most of its musical palette in the previous tracks so there is pretty much nothing new to hear here.

To make up for this there is no lack of variation in the rest of the album, standout track I Know offering an interesting chilled out, Eastern-influenced style which is carried on by the first song I mentioned, a 5-minute crescendoing instrumental that slides into the middle of the album. Other blazes of greatness include Dropping Aitches' piano-featuring second half and the staggering, explosive instrumental To Cross the Rubicon. This just proves that The Grand Astoria have acquired great virtuosity and if they can create something truly original, as well as improving their vocals (which occasionally grate with the music though not nearly as badly as previous records), then we'll have a truly mind-blowing album on our hands.

Nevertheless, with its infinite foot-stomping credibility, Punkadelia is certainly an album worth a seasoned-stoner's time and hard not to enjoy when the artwork's a dude in a superman outfit with a cow-skull for a head saving John Lennon from an exploding city of bacon."

theobelisk.net review:
"Russian heavy rockers The Grand Astoria have traveled a long way in a relatively short amount of time. With a seemingly amorphous lineup surrounding multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/principle songwriter Kamille Sharapodinov and guitarist Igor Suvarov, the band has made a point of refusing to settle either in terms of their sound or their work ethic. Amidst a handful of European tours, The Grand Astoria have released three prior albums — 2009’s I (review here), 2010’s II (review here) and 2011’s Omnipresence (review here) — the 2013 live album Good Food – Good Show! (streamed here) and a host of other singles, including a split with U.S. Christmas that coincided with a tour together. In short, they keep busy, and that extends to their latest full-length studio outing as well, the ambitiously-titled Punkadelica Supreme. While marrying influences ranging from classic metal to heavy psych and even throwing in a touch of bluegrass in opening intro “Welcome to the Club” and some prog metal on the 13:40 penultimate “Score,” The Grand Astoria — Sharapodinov, Suvarov and drummer Alexander Chebotarev — incorporate no fewer than four keyboardists, three bassists, the aforementioned banjo, a sitar and a metallophone. Outside of the core trio and backing vocalist Danila Danilov, who is fairly easy to spot, sorting out who is contributing what to which of Punkadelica Supreme‘s 13 tracks can be a confusing affair, and as the album reaches to a full 77-plus minutes, the band are making no bones about pushing the limits both of their own creativity and of the CD format itself to which it’s pressed in a six-panel foldout digipak released through Setalight Records*** with well-drawn and stylized artwork by Sophia Miroedova, featuring The Grand Astoria‘s unnamed mascot who has graced all of their covers to date. With that kind of runtime, it is an expansive outing in more than just its sonic breadth. Each of The Grand Astoria‘s prior studio efforts was longer than its predecessor, but even Omnipresence was a full 20 minutes shorter than Punkadelica Supreme, and with the proliferation of extended solos and jams between bursts of metallic crunch and the other experimental elements, it is a challenge to sort out the purposes one song even as it leads into the next.

That’s not to say it’s not worth the effort of doing so — an attentive listen pays dividends — just that the likelihood of the average listener being able to dedicate 77 minutes solid of their attention span to Punkadelica Supreme‘s twists and turns seems slim, particularly as the jammy, sitar and metallophone-ized “Space Orchid vs. Massive Drumkit” arrives ultra-hypnotic prior to the halfway point in the tracklist. Standout moments like the Tool reference at the beginning of “Street Credit” and the locked-in, immediate groove of the later “To Cross the Rubicon” provide landmarks along the way, but by the time second cut “Slave of Two Masters” has reached its massive, lead-laden peak, the solos have stretched upwards of eight minutes and though the opener, on which Sharapodinov sets up a narrative of looking forward to and then finally being at a show and it being great, is lacking nothing for charm, that narrative is lost almost immediately and doesn’t seem to come up again until track 10, “King Has Left the Building,” on which the famous clip of Horace Lee Logan informing the screaming young girls in his audience that Elvis is gone is aired, and even that’s kind of a stretch bringing it back to the opener. You could argue that the 1:23 instrumental jam “Intermission” that closes after “Score” is part of it as well, and that everything between is the meat of the show that you as “the audience” are experiencing. With as far out as they go sonically, I’m not sure that’s enough to tie that together, so if it’s a setup, it’s one that goes more or less without an answer. What we get instead is a richly varied but ultimately consistent — surprisingly so considering the swath of personnel involved — collection of tracks that represent the boldest creative statement yet from The Grand Astoria. There may be a lot of it, but Punkadelica Supreme is rife with engaging stretches and fluid transitions. Sharapodinov has never sounded so confident as a frontman (the backing vocals of Danilov) also go a long way in complementing), and in the arrangements of extended cuts like “To Cross the Rubicon,” “Punkadelica Supreme,” “King Has Left the Building” and of course the monolithic “Score,” show payoff for the relentless creative growth he’s demonstrated as a songwriter over the course of The Grand Astoria‘s prior offerings.

It may well be that Punkadelica Supreme would be more manageable if organized with the natural breaks that a 2LP release would provide, as opposed to the CD or digital release, which runs straight through, but the CD release has enough complexity and twists to satisfy listeners whether or not they may have had prior experience with The Grand Astoria, for whom the tag “punkadelica” — being a portmanteau of “punk” and “psychedelica” — winds up only telling part of the story. As cuts like the progressive, acoustic and key-led “I Know,” Sharapodinov‘s vocals arriving in dense layers, and the catchy groover highlight “Dropping Aitches” show, the band are working outside the boundaries of even the tag they made up for themselves. And it’s worth reiterating that for as many people as there are performing throughout Punkadelica Supreme and as varied as it is sonically, recorded over the course of more than a year’s time, the album doesn’t sound disjointed or lack in flow from one track to the next. It proves easy to get lost within over the course of its extended stay, but never boring, and each cut seems to answer back some idea of the prior in a different form, keyboards mirroring changes in attitude like that which occurs between “Dropping Aitches” and the subsequent punkier “Feels Like Home.” The Grand Astoria continue to fascinate with both the amount of growth they undertake and the relatively short amount of time in which they undertake it, and even as this collection rounds out with “Intermission,” the sense that there’s more they could’ve said is palpable, even if they wouldn’t have been able to actually fit it on the disc. What that means for the next installment from the adventurous troupe — let alone who may or may not be in the lineup when whatever they do from here surfaces — I don’t know, but for a band that moves so fluidly from structured changes and shifts between punk, metal, psychedelia and heavy rock to open-sounding classic jams led by engrossing solos, putting any kind of limit on their potential seems silly. I might advocate for the emergence of an editorial voice within the band to aid in coalescing some of these seemingly divergent influences, but in the meantime, just because Punkadelica Supreme is long doesn’t mean it’s not also enjoyable or that it doesn’t achieve what it sets out to do. I’d argue it does that and more, and that whatever the quick-working The Grand Astoria might do to follow it up, they’ve got a considerable task ahead of them."

Kamille story (Russian):
Мои друзья были на работах, поэтому я был предоставлен сам себе и так, незаметно для себя, я сочинил еще пять песен: добавил вступление (Welcome to the Club) и аутро (Intermission) к уже почти сформировавшемуся альбому, полностью с нуля написал "Then You Win" и "With Meaning" и доработал то, что в итоге стало песней "To Whom It May Concern".
Punkadelia Supreme"
1. WELCOME TO THE CLUB - одна из последних песен, сочиненный для альбома.
7. DROPPING AITCHES -
10. KING HAS LEFT THE BUILDING - семпл в начале взят из одной из финальных сцен "Гамлета" с Мэлом Гибсоном.

lordsofmetal.nl review by Menno Roymans:
"Russian band The Grand Astoria is the brainchild of Kamille Sharapodinov, composer, lead vocalist and main guitarist. For ‘Punkadelia Supreme’ he gathered as many friends as he could to add as many different flavours to his music as possible. Mostly bass players and keysmen, but also banjo, sitar and metallophone add to the mix. Listening to ‘Punkadelia Supreme’ brings forth the image of Kamille in the studio like a child in a theme-park; wild, expressive, enthusiastic but sometimes forgetting about the overall picture. There is such a thing as too much wah and too many vocal harmonies. However, and partly because of this, ‘Punkadelia Supreme’ sounds like a whole lotta fun. In one hour and seventeen minutes Kamille shows you all he has to give; from acoustic hippie-jams to furious stoner and psychedelic 60’s fuzziness. Enjoy!"

gripofdelusion.tumblr.com review by Guy:
"“No!!! It`s celery, apples, walnuts, grapes in a mayonnaise sauce.” That scene from Fawlty Towers is the first thing which blasts into my mind when I hear the name Waldorf or Astoria. Not the hotel, not the London music club but the salad. For over a hundred years, the dish of Oscar Tschirky has been finding its way into the mouths of gourmets and has earned its status as a classic. If food had a hall of fame filled with golden dishes, this would be a “Paranoid or IV”.
So you can imagine, when I come across a Russian band who call themselves “The Grand Astoria”, I have high expectations. I am a rock n roll gourmet, yes sir I am, I know my classics and I am always eager to bite my teeth into something new. “ Punkadelia Supreme” is the menu I will be trying today and it is the first one I get to taste from these young chefs from St Petersburg. They started their sonic kitchen in 2009, appeared on a couple of compilations and released 3 albums + a single since then.
First bite “Welcome to the club” hits right into my taste, some banjo and slide guitar give this song a southern touch, a nice appetizer indeed. “Slave of two masters” is a fuzzed out rock song that is topped off with a schizoid-keyboard and has serious jamming going on in the middle. The vocals smell very West-coast, not really my favorite but they don`t dominate the sound and that is fine by me.
“I know” is a song which has a very soft flavor but the aftertaste is something really familiar. Could that progression have a hint of British cuisine? All in all a good easy going song, perfect to warm me up for the first dish of the main course “Punkadelia Supreme “. Here it all comes together for the first time; intro swells into Fu Manchu going punk-stoner, a touch of SOAD vocal melody before the keyboards go “mars attacks”, and an end that has some spice to it. Now that my mouth is watering like the Niagara Falls, they bring on a plate dubbed “Street Credit”, consisting of some heavy riffing and a west-punkie chorus, a Caribbean surprise in the middle and an organ is pulled in for that extra flavor. The solo on the end removes all doubts I had about the British cuisine, these dudes love Iron Maiden and twin guitar madness never fails to please me.
Next Up, our Russian Chef`s present me an oriental- psyched cassoulet on “Space Orchid vs. the Massive Drumkit” (I gotta burn one to that title), followed by “Dropping Aitches” which is a pretty standard easy rocker with some piano jam in the center. King Buzzo jumps in the kitchen to help cook “Feels Like Home” and on “Cross The Rubicon” the influence of Chefs Murray, Smith and Gers is thrown into a blender with fuzz-sludge riffs, coated with an arsenal of guitar fx. “The King Has Left The Building” is the last dish of the main course and has an almost rockabilly-Setzer touch to it, served with some Manzarek organs. Alright comrades, bring on the dessert.
“Visualize” starts of as a marshmellow sweet campfire hymn, followed up by rocksteady riffing with a mid-punk filling, finished off with a pure stoner-rocknroll glazing. (notice the maidenesque acoustic end). Our chef`s try to “Score” one more time again by throwing everything which passed on the table one more time in a blender : Fuzzy guitars, wacked out keys, catchy vocal lines, a touch of oriental sweetness, a crumble of metalized Db-drums, fat solo and again that British flavor. To perfectly end this orgy of rock-cuisine, they offer of a Hendrix-like degustif called “Intermission”.

The verdict of the Gourmet : Kamil and his team really know their craft. They have mastered their instruments and present an elegant mix of of their influences. A lot of hard work is presented in “Punkadelia Supreme” and the passion for the art blows out the speakers. Will it earn them a golden dish and ensure them a place in the hall of fame for the next hundred years? In my opinion, no. Even if I am a guitar lover and there is plenty of six-string craftsmanship on the menu, they rely too much on classic recipes + as I said earlier, I am not a big fan of the vocal style. But then again, it is up to you to decide, one cannot argue about taste.
Ps: if you get the chance to see them live, don`t hesitate, a bro saw them a while ago and had nothing but good words to tell me."

Russian www.metallibrary.ru review by Lightbringer:
Можно ли считать, что послушав "Then You Win", вы получили представление о "Punkadelia Supreme"?

Progressive и psychedelic составляющие идут на "Punkadelia Supreme" рука об руку, их много как никогда прежде, и удельный вес таких массивных композиций как "Space Orchid vs Massive Drumkit", "To Cross the Rubicon" или "Score" превалирует над незначительной частью ударных и чуть более простых треков вроде "Feels Like Home", "King Has Left the Building" и "Visualize".

astralzoneblog.blogspot.com review:
"This St. Petersburg based stoner/metal/grunge/indie/punk whatever band seems to be on tour all the time, but sometimes they also find time to go into a studio. Their sound gets more and more varied with every release, and this new album sounds more progressive but at the same time this is also rather accessible and even mainstream stuff to a certain degree. Kamille plays some killer guitar solos, and he has 13 guys to help him out, like Jaire from Octopus Syng playing sitar on the great “Space orchid vs Massive Drumkit” that was already released on vinyl by Fruits de Mer/Regal Crabomophone earlier this year.

The album starts off with the short, folk/country styled “Welcome to the Club”, and then it’s time for the very energetic, even hyper-active “Slave of Two Masters” that has lots of different parts that only the Russians would ever put together. Its eight and a half minutes are a bit too much for me, to be frankly. “I Know” is a more peaceful, beautiful track that I do like. The title track “Punkadelia Supreme” has a nice, little mystical vibe at first before it starts to kick as seriously. Later on it gets rather weird and psychedelic. Kamille’s vocals are much more successful on album than live. “Street Credit” is stoner rock with pop melodies and Iron Maiden styled guitar solo part. My favourite track is “Space Orchid vs Massive Drumkit” that begins as mystical, Eastern-tingled folk and then goes into space rock territories. Great! “Dropping Aitches” reminds me of some grunge bands or even Faith No More which is not good… I don’t really like “Feels Like Home” either, but the sometimes bluesy, longer instrumental “To Cross the Rubicon” is a lot better and also includes some atmospheric parts to cool you down. “King Has Left the Building” even has some funky vibes, not my cup of tea really. “Visualize” is quite progressive with its heavy riffs, and starts to rock tightly in the middle. The longest track on the CD is the 13:40 long, dark “Score” that has some nice spacey synth sounds and lots of different moods. A very nice track! Then there’s just the short, peaceful outro “Intermission” and 77 minutes are gone. This album needs some time but you will probably find it rewarding after that. Try it out!"

The Good: Το για άλλη μια φορά εξαιρετικό artwork, η παραγωγή, οι πλούσιες ενορχηστρώσεις, τα “Score”, “Punkadelia Supreme”, “Slave of Two Masters”.

Voto: **** 1/2"

Japan masterofslach.blog114.fc2.com review by :
