По сути, за последние десять лет они сформировали интересную, самобытную и разноплановую сцену, главной точкой притяжения которой стал тот самый лейбл без названия и лого, которому посвящена финальная вещь альбома. Этот релиз - прекрасный отчет о славной деятельности, которая, надеюсь, будет продолжаться еще долго"

"On the new compilation by Addicted Label art-rockers IWKC play hit hip-hop with Rudolph influence (and I remember the times when they played post-rock), acid sludgers Pressor present The Beatles cover and a house remix of their own hit, and avant-prog hooligans Detieti give an explicit version of the main theme from "Ghostbusters". There are some really cool tracks here, but that's not the main point of the compilation, it's how well they work together. The recordings of bands that seem to live in very different worlds suddenly reveal a lot of common features. And if you look at all this from a historical perspective and trace the creative paths of the compilation participants, you can also find a lot of mutual influences. In fact, for the last ten years they have formed an interesting, distinctive and diverse scene, the main point of attraction of which is the (addicted) label without a name and logo, to which the final track of the album is dedicated. This release is a wonderful account of a glorious activity, which, hopefully, will continue for a long time"

"Het Addicted Label uit Moskou, Rusland, viert dit jaar hun 10 jarige bestaan en dat doen ze door een compilatie cassette in een beperkte oplage van 100 stuks uit te geven, waarop 17 nummers staan, die door 16 bands worden gespeeld, waarvan er 12 exclusief voor het label gemaakt zijn en tevens is het album als digitale download verkrijgbaar.

De CD, waarop hoofdzakelijk Russische bands staan, begint met "Tell No One" van Shon uit Korolyov, die een swingend ruimtelijk uptempo nummer met elektro en dance invloeden spelen, waarbij stil zitten geen optie is, waarna "The Adventure Of Kozmik Ken" van Maat Lander (Moskou) volgt, waarin de band een geweldige mix van surf en progressieve rock in een vrij hoog tempo ten gehore brengt, die een terugkerend ritme heeft en swingt.
Daarna volgen IWKC (Moskou) met "Hugger-Mugger", een schitterende uptempo progressieve rock song met invloeden van hip-hop met scratch muziek en tempowisselingen, Pressor (Saint Petersburg) met "Twist The Bliss", een uitstekende swingende uptempo song met dance invloeden, tempowisselingen en een aanstekelijk dansbaar ritme, Brom (Moskou) met "Policeman's Dream", een uptempo free jazz nummer, waarin de band helemaal los gaat, waardoor de muziek vrij heftig klinkt en Dogs Bite Back (Moskou) met "Don't Shit On The Grass", waarin de band er hevig op los experimenteert en de muziek heftig is en chaos oproept.
In "Duul" van Juice Oh Yeah (Saint Petersburg) krijg ik een fantastisch stuk psychedelische muziek in een niet al te hoog tempo voorgezet, dat een terugkerend ritme heeft en na enkele minuten in een sneller tempo over gaat, om enkele minuten later te veranderen in een traditioneel klinkende song met progressieve Balkan invloeden, in "Rust" van Dekonstruktor (Moskou) hoor ik de band een heerlijke stonerrock song in een gemiddeld tempo spelen, in "Their Snakes Are Thy Snakes" van Zatvor (Kursk) krijg ik een zwaar stuk stoner doom te horen, dat in een traag tempo mijn gehoorgang binnen komt, om na enkele minuten meer snelheid te krijgen, waarbij de muziek een terugkerend ritme heeft, dat op zijn beurt weer verandert en over gaat in een chaotisch experimenteel stuk en in "Transcomplect" van Matushka (Saint Petersburg) schotelt de band me een swingend uptempo elektro nummer met een aanstekelijk dansbaar ritme voor.
Dan volgen Mother Witch (Odessa, Oekraine) met "Ode To A Cold Heart", een verrukkelijk rustig nummer, dat een aanstekelijk ritme heeft, dat aanzet tot schuifelen, Selferadication Dpt. (Saint Petersburg) met "Gazelle Of Death", een lekker in het gehoor klinkende poprock song met een gemiddeld tempo en een terugkerend dansbaar ritme, dat iets voor de helft van het nummer over gaat in een traag tempo om enkele minuten later in een heerlijk stuk rock met een terugkerend ritme te veranderen
en The Flash Fever (Saint Petersburg) met "Get Down" (Live), een uitstekende uptempo punk song met tempowisselingen, die swingt.
Vervolgens hoor ik "Sucre Dans Rebelle" / "Ghostbusters" (Live) van Detieti (Moskou) en hierin speelt de band een prima cover van "Ghostbusters" met invloeden van rock en jazz, dat swingt, waarbij de muziek afwisselend is, " Смех" van Byl Zamechen (Kharkiv, Oekraine), die een mix van progressieve rock en dance speelt, die halverwege in een experimenteel stukje over gaat.
Als laatste nummer zet REBBBB (Moskou) me "Our label feat Addicted Yell" voor, waarin de band een puike rock song met een gemiddeld tempo en een terugkerend ritme speelt, die noise en heavy invloeden heeft.

"At a time when some are promoting the boycotting of all Russian media, it’s important to remember that many Russians stand in solidarity with Ukraine, and against Putin’s war. The Russian [addicted label] has long worked with many Ukrainian bands and artists, and also with Ukrainian label RobustFellow to promote the progressive, psychedelic, eccentric and extreme from both countries. Since the release of their Addicted Tunes compilation, and the latest aggression, invasion and occupation of Ukraine by Putin’s forces, [addicted label] has used their Bandcamp platform not to promote their own release, but to encourage people to visit and buy from the Bandcamp pages of Ukrainian artists. Now I can understand not promoting this compilation themselves, as it might not be well received, and could certainly easily be misconstrued or misunderstood, but I can highly recommend lovers of adventurous and experimental music taking a chance on it as it is full of interesting music, much of which is unique to this release. When I first looked at the track listing, what I initially noticed is how much was “missing” from it. Some of my favourite artists who have released albums on the [addicted label] are absent from this compilation (including Ciolkowska – Психоделия, Disen Gage, The Grand Astoria, Grey Mouse – A Moment of Weakness, and Soom). In fact, the only bands I was familiar with were Detieti, Pressor and Juice Oh Yeah, though I knew of IWKC, and could guess who REBBBB were. But who cares what is “missing” when what is included is this good?

The trip begins in a psychedelic electronic manner that surprised me completely as it wasn’t really like anything I’m used to. Шон (Shon) kicks off proceeding with “funk rock from outer space”. It’s not what I was expecting, but it’s a blast, with its off kilter keyboard runs, electronic blips and bloops, and pounding beat. This is followed by Maat Lander who sound like EDM, where the ‘M’ stands for Morricone. The band may have been unfamiliar to me, but upon checking out their Bandcamp page, two of their members (Ark and Ivan Fedotov) are very familiar, from Vespero and with Ángel Ontalva. From there we head into territory that’s closer to Faith No More meets Fun Loving Criminals (but not really sounding like either) for some crusty, punky prog with hip hop vibes from IWKC. This is the first track I’ve ever heard from IWKC, who are a band I’ve been meaning to listen to for quite some time. Based on the quality of this song, I will definitely be checking them out, and their alter-ego, Evil Bear Boris (TPA’s review of IWKC – Evil Bear Boris). I have to admit I wasn’t initially a fan of the Pressor remix that followed, but I couldn’t deny how well it fitted in the mix so far. What I love most is how much thought has gone into the curation and sequencing of Addicted Tunes. So far every track has flowed perfectly into the next, and it’s already evident how much thought has been given to that. And this continues throughout the album, so that even if I’m not so fond of some of the tracks, they all serve a purpose on the journey, and I wouldn’t want to skip any of them.

As for the Wiklauri remix of Pressor’s Twist the Bliss, I think the only reason I wasn’t enamoured with it to begin with is because I was too familiar with the original(s) on their 2020 EP of the same name (described on Bandcamp as “a deeply psychedelic and dark form of sludgy Krautrock”). I love that release, so hearing such a different take on it was quite jarring. But it didn’t take too many subsequent listens for this remix to get under my skin, and it’s now one of my favourite tracks on the whole compilation! Just another example of the excellent curation of this compilation, as this remix fits better than the original Twist the Bliss would have done, introducing something new to the listener. I like to be challenged, and this remix did that and won me over. And then, just as I’m won over to a different sound, in comes what I was expecting from Addicted Tunes, with the squalling sax intro to the track from Бром (Brom). The band describe themselves as “an explosive mix of jazz and punk”, but for me it’s simply a riotous embrace of improvisational joy. Another band where I need to check out more of their discography. There’s more improvisation from Dogs Bite Back, but this is less jazz and punk than glitch and noise – and I love it! And yet, there’s a surprisingly amount of melody in the disjointed noise rock of Dogs Bite Back, and they are vaguely reminiscent of some of Sun Ra’s music, or of the improvisations that come from MoonJune’s sessions at La Casa Murada. So I guess there’s some jazz in there, after all!

We’re up to Juice Oh Yeah, who (as I pointed out in my review of their eponymous album from 2020) beautifully combine the sounds of the west and the east in their avant psychedelia. I fully expected to love this track, and it easily lived up to my expectations. Another definite favourite on this compilation. If Juice Oh Yeah is mind-expanding, then Dekonstruktor is mind-melting. But whether you feel it’s more pleasurable to take the brunt of the sludgy acid rock attack of Dekonstruktor, or be bludgeoned by the doom and drone sludge of Zatvor, both are excellent. I think I’ll take the bludgeoning. Pressor are back, with their magnificent cover of I Want You (She’s So Heavy). Ok, I already had this, but it’s so much better here than as a stand-alone release, and again the placement is perfect. Have I mentioned how good the flow of this compilation is? (Only several times…) Матушка-Гусыня (Matushka) then take the psychedelia off in a Motorik direction, revving nicely through the groove of their contribution, and leading us to quite possibly the compilation’s most beautiful and poignant moment – Mother Witch’s Ode to a Cold Heart. Отдел Самоискоренения (Selferadication Dept) follow up with something that begins with a sound almost approaching indie, and perhaps the closest to mainstream this compilation comes – but it’s a song of two halves, and the two are very different, and I love where it takes me. It’s followed by a live performance from The Flash Fever, which is possibly my least favourite song on this album – which is not to say it’s not good. It just doesn’t reach the same heights, and as I’ve discovered that Juice Oh Yeah had its beginnings in The Flash Fever, I’m quite happy they left this band behind. They’re fun (as the song would indicate), but I can get down more with other bands on [addicted label].

Bands like Detieti, who feature next with quite possibly my absolute favourite track on Addicted Tunes, a live medley of one of my favourite Detieti songs (Sucre dans Rebelle) and the theme to Ghostbusters. That might seem odd, but when you consider the original version of Sucre dans Rebelle interpolates the theme to Knight Rider, it’s really not so far out. It’s quite possibly insulting to some of the bands featured here that I rate this so highly, but I mean no offence. I simply love the batshit crazy bonkers frogressive punk of Detieti. It’s a hard act to follow, and it’s probably wise to have the lo-fi jamming of psychedelic garage rockers Был замечен (Byl Zamechen) take on the challenge by presenting something so different it just works. That leaves just one last track, from REBBBB. The EBBBB part of the band name stands for Evil Bear Boris Big Band, who I’ve encountered twice previously in their DEEBBBB (Detieti Evil Bear Boris Big Band) incarnation. This time around, it’s with Рудольф (Rudolf) that Evil Bear Boris have formed their Big Band, and the song is dedicated to the [addicted label], rounding things out very nicely. It’s not a perfect compilation, in terms of fully representing all the sounds of the label, but as a compilation that works as an album, it really couldn’t be more perfect. At no point does a track sound out of place, or the transition from one song to another feel jarring. It might not be the perfect introduction to the [addicted label] but I’m not convinced that is what it is meant to be. Unlike the samplers many labels release, this doesn’t seem like a compilation that aims to attract new listeners, so much as to reward those who are already onboard. As one of the converted, keep preaching to me, please! (I’m addicted…)"

"То, что мы сейчас обсудим, лежит вообще вне каких-либо конкретных стилевых обозначений, это нечто космическое, инфернальное, временами идеологически жуткое, но вместе с тем, очень новаторское и увлекательное. Провести ночь с этим сборником где-то достойно того, чтобы вас назвали революционером-индивидуалистом, преисполненным смелости и тяготеющим к путешествиям вне своего сознания в мире искаженного восприятия реальности, если не по ту сторону бытия вообще. Материал, который вам предлагается попробовать изучить, может заинтересовать как тех, кто любит послушать нечто из ряда вон выходящее, гипнотическое и доселе неведомое, так и прожженных почитателей альтернативы, предпочитающих больше мыслить, нежели просто тупо трястись под ритмы, что, кстати, здесь также весьма приемлемо. Данная коллекция, состоящая из композиций мало кому известных коллективов, в основном до отказа забита разношерстными треками, созданными людьми, пребывающими в иных измерениях, что является огромным плюсом, ибо это необычно и создает интригу. Тут вам преподнесут такие изысканные блюда, о которых вы вполне возможно даже представления не имеете. Смесь транса, психоделии и элементов сумасбродного фри джаза в духе Джона Зорна и Naked City. Симбиозы фолк-рока и прогрессивных хитросплетений. Психоделический и самобытный сладж-металл, который пытаются играть музыканты, на самом деле обожающие грязноватый гранж и прокуренный стоунер. Есть полотна, явно отсылающие нас к тяжелому прогрессиву 70-х, словно Гедди Ли и Алекс Лайфсон из Rush сбежали из дурдома, состыковались с The Residents и начали импровизировать, плотно употребив перед этим различные вещества. Ритмичный транс и клубный drum & bass, припорошенный музыкой млечного пути в духе Pink Floyd и King Crimson времен их самого неординарного альбома “Discipline”. Психический и риффовый грув совместно с космическими зарисовками в духе новой волны. Что скажете? Особенно интересны такие имена, как Zatvor, Matushka, Dekonstruktor, Maat Lander, Juice oh yeah, это те, кто привлечет к себе особое внимание всеми вышеописанными моментами. Хотя, чего там, все участники этой солянки каждый по-своему оригинален. Если вас все достало, если кругом все бесит, врубайте эти записи и вас унесет куда-то далеко-далеко, вы будете возвращаться и снова исчезать в калейдоскопе пугающих образов и странных видений. Это загадочное и увлекательное путешествие. Хотя стоит предупредить о том, что вы либо сразу втянетесь, и вам понравится, либо вы это выключите и заречетесь впредь подобное не слушать. "Warum dauert es zehn Jahre, bis das Label auf die Idee kommt, seine Arbeit mit einem repräsentativen Sampler zu repräsentieren? 15 bis 17 Songs (da unterscheiden sich die Tracklists kurioserweise), die die Bandbreite von elektronisch-jazziger Dancemusik über Progmetal, Freakpunk, Avantgarde, Free Jazz und Stoner bis Death Metal und Doom abdecken, darunter satte 13 Erstveröffentlichungen. Mit einer gehörigen Portion Funk eröffnen Шон (Shon) aus Koroljow das Bündel. Elektronisch tanzbar und unvorhersehbar richten sie die Aufmerksamkeit zunächst auf die Mobilität der Hörenden: Seid ihr tanzbereit? Sollte man sein. Die Psychedeliker Maat Lander aus Moskau greifen das Technoide auf; fürwahr, ein irreführender Einstieg in das Labelprogramm.

Die alten Helden IWKC alias I Will Kill Chita holen den Dancefloor zurück ins Experimentelle, krachen Riffs in die Beats und verschachteln ihren Beitrag. Selbst die Sankt Petersburger Dauerkiffer Pressor kommen hier elektronisch daher, nämlich episch housy geremixt von Wiklauri, und verdammt, steht ihnen der tanzbare Anstrich gut!

Spätestens mit Бром (Brom) zeigt die Compilation ihr wahres Gesicht: flirrendes Saxophon über nicht erkennbarem Takt fordert Hörgewohnheiten massiv heraus und definiert die Idee von Free Jazz neu. Dogs Bite Back setzen das Schwerhörbare mit ihrer Impro-Avantgarde fort. Den nächsten Schritt in Richtung Kernkompetenz macht das Label mit dem Sankt Petersburger Duo Juice Oh Yeah, das basierend auf einer Art russischer Folklore zum epischen, elektronisch unterfütterten Sprung ins All ansetzt. Eine Reise, die sich lohnt. Anschließend klingen Dekonstruktor, wie sie heißen, und reißen die Gitarrenmusik fuzzy verdröhnt in den doomigen Abgrund.

Die nächste fast Viertelstunde gehört Zatvor, Eigenschreibweise ZaTVoR, aus Kursk, und die nutzen die Zeit fürs epische doomige Stonern. Erstaunlich, mit wie viel Filigranität das Sextett seine zusehends brutaler rollende Walze schmückt, die in einem Feedbackgewitter ausfasert. Hernach schieben Pressor ihre spacige Variante des Beatles-Songs „I Want You (She‘s So Heavy)“ in die Sammlung; dieses Stück fehlt in manchen Ausführungen.

In jedem Fall weiter geht es mit Матушка-Гусыня (Matushka) aus Sankt Petersburg, aus dem Umfeld von The Grand Astoria. In knapp zweieinhalb Minuten komprimiert dieses Projekt Tanzbarkeit, Progrock und Virtuosität in ein halsbrecherisches Interludium. Mother Witch aus Odessa fahren das Tempo mit einem Akustikgitarrenintro wieder runter, das ein vom Frauengesang getragenes Neofolkstück einleitet – und dieses zur Hälfte in den handfesten Doom kippt.

Die Moskauer Punks Отдел Самоискоренения alias Selferadication Dept ziehen das Tempo wieder an mit ihrer eher in allem, was mit Post- beginnt, angesiedelten Gitarrenrockmusik. Melodiös, sperrig, monoton, energetisch – und episch: Seit wann machen Punks Lieder, die acht Minuten lang sind? Das geht natürlich nur mit experimentell-chilligem Mittelteil. The Flash Fever aus Sankt Petersburg schieben den Drall in Richtung No Wave, mit einer kleinen rotzigen Punknummer, die mit zwischenzeitlichem Gegniedel die eigentliche Nähe zum Stoner nicht verbergen kann.

Dann bringen Detieti das Saxophon ins Spiel und zitieren in ihrem avantgardistisch funkrockendem Livetrack urplötzlich „Ghostbusters“, so geht das. Dies ist der zweite Track, der als Coverversion nicht in allen Varianten dieser Compilation enthalten ist. Был замечен… alias Byl Zamechen, die zweite Band aus der Ukraine, aus Харьков, Charkiw, nämlich, experimentiert ohne Schlagzeug auf einer sehr freakigen Ebene, mit einem beinahe hypnotischen Mix aus angezerrter Gitarre, zirpenden Geräuschen und etwas Undefinierbarem, das sowohl Orgel als auch Blasinstrument sein könnte. Den Abschluss macht die Impro-Supergroup REBBBB mit einem groovend-spacigen Kopfnicker.

Wer nach diesen anderthalb Stunden auf den Geschmack gekommen ist, findet auf der Bandcamp-Seite von addicted noch mehr glänzende Perlen!"

"Первый выпуск компиляции от Зависимого музыкального издательства без названия и лого. Релиз вышел в трёх версиях — стриминги, bc (самый полный) и кассета (самый ламповый, особый поклон в пол ребятам из астраханско-московского коллектива Maat Lander, которые взяли на себя производство и особое оформление).
По сути к десятилетию лейбла случился альбом-сборник, состоящий из треков друзей этого самого лейбла. Бóльшая часть материала на альбоме ранее не публиковалась, да и вообще половина треков специально создавалась для этого сборника. Компиляция позиционируется как альбом также потому, что собирали её именно таким образом, чтобы она звучала как альбом.

Когда хорошее настроение, послушать такой сборник это именно оно самое то, что надо. От этих композиций должна быть улыбка до ушей и только позитивные эмоции. Стилистически это безумная сборная солянка — музыкальный паровоз на крейсерской скорости летит от лёгкой танцевальной электроники и джаза с авангардом, через панк и фанк прямиком в мрачные владения метала, сладжа и дума. И всё это укутано густой психоделикой. Фриковая музыка для аристократов духа."

"Hailing from Moscow, Russian Federation, [addicted label] might be quite an interesting label, yet (unfortunately?) way too unknown in our (western) regions. It’s home to many – and I really mean ‘many’ – hands full of bands and projects that dwell within spheres of Progressive Rock, Psychedelica, Free Jazz, Stoner, Avantgarde, Doom, Alternative, Electronica, Experimental, Punk, Noise Rock, and so on, and so on, and so on. For about two decades, this channel tries to support and promote the scene from, especially, Russian soil, but also from other countries (like Ukraine).

…and this easily brings me to Addicted Tunes, a sampler of rare and (mainly) previously unreleased tracks by several of this label’s close comrades. The compilation is available via the known digital sources, yet it has also been pressed on compact-disc (a very limited promotional version for friends and relationships, I think, with ‘comic’ visuals) and on tape. The latter was achieved with assistance of Maat Lander, who helped with productional duties, with design assistance, and with their contribution called The Adventure Of Kozmik Ken (which I will come back to soon).

One thing: there’s a fifteen-track version, and one that includes two bonus-songs. I will focus on that extended one… What follows is a very brief and concise description of each contribution involved on Addicted Tunes.

Шон (rus) - Не говори никому (05:31): (aka ‘shon’) Welcome aboard the electric bus… A piece of psychedelic Funk Electronica, very dynamic and danceable, with rhythmic beats, spacy loops and funky Rock elements;

Maat Lander (rus) - The Adventure Of Kozmik Ken (04:21): extremely energetic Space / Surf / Kraut Rock with an Ozric Tentacles get covered by Caudal attitude, with jazzy percussions, swirling strings and many spacelike noises;

IWKC (rus) (aka I Will Kill Chita) - Hugger-Mugger (04:31): somewhat different from what we’re used of, I think; this time replacing the Prog / Psych-Rock elements by an amalgam of influences, from soft Stoner-alike heaviness over Hip-Hop / Trip-Hop stuff and even hints of modern Pop-Electro-Rock, with a funky / jazzy undertone and a lot of, well, how would I call it: scratch or so?...;

Pressor (rus) - Twist The Bliss (Wiklauri Remix) (08:54): a remarkable acid-infused remixed version from this project’s so-called 2020-EP; it’s very varied, with Trip-Hop and Techno fragments, then again introducing influences from Trance, IDM-laden Electro and Drum ‘n’ Bass. The voices are remarkably more on the foreground this time, also slightly manipulated in the final remix;

Бром (rus) - Сон милицанера (04:01): at first, I thought John Zorn was aiming for a cover version of Madness’ Welcome To The House Of Fun, yet soon I had to admit my mistake, for this is madness²… Purest frenzy improv, mingling Free Jazz with all kinds of mental-aural disturbance: saxophone-cacophony, drums ‘n’ percussions violation, bass-string rape and an overdose of ear-grinding Avant-Jazz fury;

Dogs Bite Back (rus) - Don’t Shit On The Grass (04:32): here’s also an overload of improvisation involved, yet from a mentally alienated kind: glitchy experimentation, incoherent sample-distortion, dubbed bass-lines, explosive noises, insane percussions, and malfunctional (which is positively meant) sonic destruction…;

Juice Oh Yeah (rus) - Duul (08:11): once again, this band surprises with their eclectic yet organic mix of Eastern and Western influences. Duul starts quite integer, acoustic-oriented and oriental with a psychedelic twist (fine strings, drums and other [often traditional] instruments!), yet after a while (two minutes and something), things turn into heavier proportions for a shorter moment; before returning into another folkloristic piece of Avantgarde Music (which includes a fine scala of clean chants and choirs, uplifting percussions, progressive structures and archaic harmonies), working towards an explosive grand finale;

Dekonstruktor (rus) - Rust (03:01): a fine (yet way to short) hymn of Sludge / Stoner / Doom Metal, with soaring voices, grooving yet harsh guitars, thunderous drums, and abyssal basses. Because of its sloth-like slowness, Rust turns out to be extremely devastating in execution and overpowering in attitude;

Zatvor (rus) - Their Snakes Are Thy Snakes (12:37): this band too dwells in dimensions of ultra-doomed empowerment. This track stands for the most morbid and filthy Doom one can imagine, composed through mega-heavy rhythm strings, shrieking leads, slowly pounding yet colossal drum-patterns and distorted basses. Like a monolithic drone, this composition roars, like a slowly approaching yet unstoppable avalanche, ready to cover all sense of reality and inner peace. At about 1/3rd of the track, things intensify, ominously accelerating, ghastly intoxicating, adding many complementary layers of string-majesty and drum-authority. And this evolves, slow yet resolute, into a cacophony of well-structured chaos and noise-distortion;

Pressor (rus) - I Want You (She’s So Heavy) (): [bonus-track #1] Haha, a cover by The Beatles, why not? This Doom / Sludge / Stoner version reveals a psychotic creativity shows the cohesive interplay of this band. Everything seems to work out perfectly: the old-schooled vibe (the original version is from 1969), the stoned performance (those leads, that vocal timbre, these rumbling rhythm strings), the monumental sound; it just works;

Матушка-Гусыня (rus) - Транскомплект (02:34): an instrumental up-tempo track with a mood of good vibrations; swirling and swinging, funky and groovy, built around an acid-laden amalgam of complex rhythms, avantgarde progression and unprejudiced leads;

Mother Witch (ukr) - Ode To A Cold Heart (08:06): [now located in Australia, if I am not mistaken] with their intriguing Occult Doom Metal, this band did reach some ‘fame’ in the meantime. This older piece starts acoustic, with emotional guitars and the warm voice of Maria T. Step by step, this sensitive introduction slowly evolves into rather intense proportions, and at four minutes we get an episode of captivating Proto-Doom with these beautiful vocals, mesmerizing, even ceremonial harmonies, a heavy rhythm section, haunting solo-work and, above all, an atmosphere that surrounds the whole with awe, intrigue and sensation;

Отдел Самоискоренения (rus) - Газель смерти (08:24): Noise Rock with a huge Punk-vibe, done through discordant string-manipulation, rabid drum patterns, melodic vocals, pushing guitar-work and quite some noise-distortion behind (and within) the productional duties. The center of the track, then again, totally decelerates, morphing into an hypnagogic, somewhat seductive piece of dreamlike ambience (including some field-recorded samples). But the last three minutes burst out once more, with a fine-balanced mix of Surf Rock, Noise Rock, Punk Pop and Alternative / Indie oriented Rock Music;

The Flash Fever (rus) - Get Down (02:42): a self-produced live version with a dose of irony; kinetic Punk Rock, energetic, even anthemic when focusing on the melodies and voices, and breathing a timeless worship to the old-styled Punk-scene;

Detieti (rus) - Sucre Dans Rebelle (Ghostbusters) (07:01): [bonus-track#2] This too is a live contribution by Frogressive Punk act Detieti, starting with a performance of their 2015 piece Sucre Dans Rebelle and consciously, mercilessly adding their own twisted idea of the Ghostbusters movie’s main theme; Progressive Rock fused with hints of Brass, Jazz and Krautrock;

Был замечен... (ukr) - Смех (06:10): after a short industrialized introduction, Смех turns into an hallucinatory experience, initially combining avantgarde techniques with progressive aesthetics, getting canalized into a weird, psychedelic result. Like an anesthetic jam session, the last section adds other mechanoid and organ / theremin like elements, as well as totally frenzy voices and heavily droning guitars;

REBBBB (rus) - Наш лейбл feat зависимый оР (06:00): this (live) collaboration of Evil Bear Boris Big Band and Rudolph pays tribute to [addicted label] with their infectious mixture of Hip-Hop, repetitive patterns, roaring basses, eclectic percussions, punky vibes, multiple vocals (quite diverse yet deeply fitting), rocking structures, and traditional elements (through strings and percussion).

Addicted Tunes is an unusual compilation with a very open-minded mindset. It shows at least a fragmentary part of what the label has to offer the tolerant and liberal audience, without any restrictions and without any limitations (at least from sonic point). You might not find all contributions as interesting (nor do I), yet you might probably find some material that just intrigues…"
