On July, 23 Sirius rises a minute before the Sun comes up it appears as a bright star. On that moment Sirius, the Sun and the Earth show up in one line. On the band’s webpage their musical style is named like psychedelic rock and baroque-pop which is quite corresponding to reality. First that comes into listener’s head is “A Piper at the Gates of Dawn” as well as singles of Barrett period of great Pink Floyd. And for the very beginning this feeling could be a bit too intrusive.

When to the middle of the title track “The Heliacal Rises of Sirius” a bunch of melody and the rhythm literally scatters so not structured anymore sounds flow in the liberated flight of early space rock alike “Interstellar Overdrive”. It may seem that in those peculiar moments the band’s music partially loses its individuality but this deceptive impression generously compensates with more than self-sufficient couplet part of the song, augmented by French and German lyrics. On these moments you can hear shades of Amon Dull and Brainticket or even Christine 23 Onna for the most experienced listeners. This is beyond tens of not recognized bands of that period. Also is desirable to notice the sound of electric guitar on this track. Mainly it’s not overloaded as normally typical for the genre but in some places when the fuzz is on it feels like the floor starts vibrating under your feet – such a stoner rock occasionally.

Seems like sung parts of the track add even more to already strong impression from the band’s music. You can become pretty sure of it getting acquainted with the next track of this release called “Little Star”. On the way calm-and-dreaming pieces are being altered with dynamic syncopated hooks. And generally speaking there’s robustly pumped a very thick winter-tale atmosphere – wolves are just great!

This disperses during the third track “The Ghost”. Hearing this the band’s creativity can be called to some point as “cinematographic” and the edge song may be considered as a soundtrack for some science fiction movie.

Definitely all these fine arrangements of each song should be taken into account in order to obtain a full picture. Apart from standard rock-pack here and there steps in a vintage organ or glockenspiel thanks for that the music acquires it’s surrealistic airy shine. Psychedelics is just well enough so it doesn’t distract or looks distanced from the main theme. Over the listening appear clear associations with the works of Soviet period composers which adds on charm. Besides this there must be underlined all vocal parts confidently matching mutual canvas. Backing vocals fill up and colours all mains of the songs and as performed on a very professional level give a complete creation.

To sum up we can state that this is not a ‘usual’ mockup of the ’60-s’ but self-sufficient musical act done in definitive style framework. It’s strongly recommended to all fans of 60’s-70’s art-prog-psycho-whatever music as well as for totally indifferent to those styles people.

"Eine musikalische Überraschung: Zurück ins All und in der Zeit geht es mit diesem Mini-Album, auf dem wir die Moskauerin Inna Pivars auch noch auf Deutsch singen hören. „Гелиакические восходы Сириуса“ ist ein Konzeptalbum, das sich um den Aufgang des Sirius eine Minute vor der Sonne am 23. Juli 2017 dreht; „The Heliacal Risings Of Sirius“ nennt die Band diese EP deshalb auch auf Englisch. Und den ersten Track, der sich fast zehn Minuten lang titelgemäß ins All schießt, in einem Psychedelic-Sound, der sich nah an dem der Sechziger oder Siebziger orientiert, namentlich die Pink Floyd unter Syd Barret, aber auch grundsätzlich und allgemein in jener Epoche verhaftet. Im bekifften Midtempo startet es beschwingt, bis der Track komplett zerfasert und jeder Musiker seiner eigenen Droge zu folgen scheint. Und Musiker gibt’s hier einige: Bandchefin Inna Pivars singt und besorgt die Noises, Kirill Bezrodnykh schließt sich damit an und fügt noch die Gitarre hinzu, Evgeny Vakhlyaev spielt einen dicken Retro-Bass, Keat Tikhones bedient Orgel, Keyboards und Glockenspiel und Vlad „Artist“ Sokolov das Schlagzeug.

Und dann fängt sich der Track plötzlich wieder und bratzt nochmal los, mit neuem Schwung. Großartig. Die beiden anderen Songs erinnern an Chansons, die den Absprung in die Avantgarde absolvierten. Rund um schöne Melodien und Wohlklang türmen sich bedrohliche Geräusche auf, mit denen die Songs dann gemeinsame Sache machen und sich in den Wahnsinn verirren. „Barock“ ist das Schlagwort, das Pivars selbst am häufigsten für die Beschreibung ihrer Musik verwendet. Es wundert alles nicht: Sie ist Film- und Theaterschauspielerin und war in diversen russischen Musicals umjubelt.


„Гелиакические восходы Сириуса“ ist die vierte Veröffentlichung dieser Band, inzwischen ist mit der Single „Восточная/Аленушка“ die sechste erschienen, noch ohne Label, und eigentlich der Vorbote zum Album „Певчие птицы в лесу берендеев“, das aber offenbar noch immer nicht veröffentlicht wurde, im Zuge der weltweiten Viruskrise. Auch bei dieser Band gab es Umbesetzungen, aber keine umwälzende Neuausrichtung: Der Bass trägt das Frankreich der Siebziger weiter in sich, die Musik stößt ins All vor, die Sounds und Melodien sind so bunt wie der Hippie-Bandbus, die zwei Songs sind so versponnen, dass man daran seine wahre Freude hat. Ein herrlicher durchgedrehter Spaß! Man kann nur hoffen, dass der Rest auch noch den Weg in die Öffentlichkeit findet."

De digitale EP "The Heliacal Risings Of Sirius" bevat 3 nummers en begint met het titel nummer "The Heliacal Risings Of Sirius", waarin Inna Pivars & The Histriones een fantastische licht psychedelische song met een gemiddeld tempo ten gehore brengt, die invloeden van de jaren 60-70 muziek bevat en subtiele tempowisselingen, plus een terugkerend ritme heeft en tegen het einde experimenteel wordt.
Daarna volgt "Tiny Star", een schitterende mix van folk en psychedelische muziek met een gemiddeld tempo en een aanstekelijk dansbaar ritme.
In "The Ghost" zet Inna Pivars & The Histriones me een geweldige swingende vrolijk klinkende uptempo song voor, waarbij stil zitten geen optie is en deze heeft tempowisselingen en lichte invloeden van theater en filmmuziek.
